I show up today
With gratitude and rage
That’s all I can offer
Though they don’t weigh the same
They come as a package
A two-for-one deal
For a world that is wicked
And wondrous and real
I sing with the sparrows
And swear with the crows
I dance at the funeral
Of all who must go
For rage is a river
And gratitude snow
Both of them water
Both are my own
